Rap Flashback – Public Enemy

January 26th 1987 – Public Enemy, featuring Chuck D., Flava Flav, & Terminator X dropped their debut album on Def Jam, entitled “Yo! Bum Rush the Show.” With a politically driven edge lyrically and a raw, hard core sound the group would become one of Hip Hop’s most influential and important. They led the charge in a time where waxin’ politics and community empowerment were dominant in Rap and for that JP Lime sites you, Public Enemy. ‘It takes a nation of millions to hold us back.’
